Spin

Hope your holiday was good and yummy too. My update today is a wash, I have remained the same weight as I was last week. Amazing, I went to the gym four times this week. This amount of sweat and enthusiasm proved to negate the gluttony of Thanksgiving. This time staying the same was a success.

Although, I have not claimed any new rewards lately, I would like to talk about a special treat. I have overcome a fear of mine....I went to my very first spin class on Sunday. Thank you, Ilona, for schlepping out this way to join and encourage me. Ilona's expertise came in handy with my selecting my spin bike, adjusting my seat height, and distance, teaching me first through third positions (not to be confused with those I knew for twelve years of ballet), telling me to place my towel over the handlebars so as not to become infested with everyone else's grime, and warning me...really warning me that my bottom and inner thighs would hurt...really hurt and gave me a rather descriptive example of what it might feel like...but I won't share that.

Ilona made me promise her that she would get mentioned in the blog in more than just "one measly paragraph"...so there's more. She told me that I don't have to listen to the instructor when she said to turn up the resistance. She told me how to buckle my sneaker into the "thingamajig" and then "wiggle" out of it if I needed to get loose. She also looked at me and with compassion and sensitiviy, pointed at my butt, and shook her head when my form was a bit off. With all this special guidance, I am proud to say that I completed my first spin class without any major mishap and sweated A LOT! Sorry, Ilona, I couldn't post the pictures. It was too technically advanced for this blogger.

Another reliable friend is resting on my foot and licking my ankle as I am writing this. I must have some cheese hiding in my sock or something.

it's nice to change up the excercise this way the torture and torment of this ordeal of excercising doesn't get too boring-i always wanted trythe spin class but since i don't belong to a gym I'll stick to the 20miles biking Jack and I have been doing-unfortunately the winter will prevent us from biking-keep it up and a wash is still good!!!!!
